Raleigh North Carolina, North Carolina’s oldest forestry consulting firm expands practice.

Gelbert, Fullbright & Randolph Forestry Consultants, PLLC (GFR) has completed the merger of its business with Charles L. Tate, Jr. & Associates of Lake Waccamaw, North Carolina. Buddy Tate established his forestry consulting business in 1973 and served hundreds of clients before his passing in November, 2011. Mr. Tate, a community leader and stalwart in the profession of consulting forestry, served on the North Carolina State Board of Registration for Foresters from 2005-2011.

“The expansion of our business to southeastern North Carolina achieves a goal Henry Randolph and I set early in our partnership. To merge with a practice whose history, service and reputation for professionalism matches our own is a high honor. We look forward to continuing Mr. Tate’s commitment to his clients,” says Kent Fullbright, managing partner of GFR Forestry Consultants. With this acquisition, GFR will further enhance their delivery of quality forest management advice to clients throughout the Carolinas, Virginia and Georgia.

Mary Lacey Tate joined her father’s practice in 1997 and has served as the firm’s business manger since 2002. She states, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to move our business into another generation with Kent and Henry. They exemplify the same ethical integrity and loyalty to their clients as my father. I am proud to be a part of this transition. The continuation of our long-term relationships will provide sustainable forest management for our clients well into the future.”
